With the growth of mobile signups, I designed mobile centric editing experiences that were optimized toward the types of edits users’ wanted to do on the go.

Rather than use the template editor to edit blog content, I designed a draft mode that allows users to focus on content editing when writing blog posts.

New Years Promotion 2020
Designed the annual New Years promotion strategy for the premium subscription Plus. Variations are extensively tested due to the surge in new users in the new year.

Designed Duolingo’s first social feature that incorporated user generated content, and social mini-lessons, and leaderboards.

Club Content 2018
For Clubs, I designed the first user-generated messaging platform. I created the system for posts, mentions, hearting, canned messages, reporting and more.
Plus Gamification 2020
I was part of the monetization team, and as such we worked on the suite of premium features and used gamification and gating to promote Plus.
Stories 2017
Was the founding designer that launched Stories. I created the immersion and narrative based lesson format that has evolved from being just on web, to a tab on the app, to finally becoming a core part of the language tree.
About
Combos 2017
Founded the feature Combos, which celebrates when a user gets multiple questions correct in succession. Combos still persist in every lesson to this day.

Royal Recap 2022
As a surprise for the team, I put together a 2022 Year Recap video of the company’s successes and bonding moments.
Teleport 2021
Created the intro video for a fashion app. The Video would play after a user opens the app for the first time, explaining value props and usage.
Cluster 2020
Designed a hypothetical product that focuses on making lists of places; think location based Pinterest . Lists are called a “Cluster” they can be organized, filtered, and shared.
Trending Clusters 2020
Leveraging your social graph, Cluster can surface trends in visited neighborhoods and saved categories of from friend’s Cluster lists. In turn these can help you discover relevant new spots to save as well.
